Calathea ornata is a member of the plants known as "Prayer Plants". They received this name due to the fact that the leaves open and close (move up and down) with light or temperature, just like hands coming up to pray. The leaves are a beautiful burgundy red on the bottom with pink stripes running across the tops. Calathea love humidity and regular watering. Always be sure to use filtered water to avoid dry brown edges on the leaves.
